Health and Fitness: Why You Should Sleep Early

Are you an early bird, or a night owl? If you're an early bird, I have great news for you: studies have shown that you get to live longer than night owls! There are two types of night owls. Are you one of those who tends to stay up late and sleep in well past sunrise (Type A)? Or are you the type that usually sleeps late and wakes up early (Type B)? Related imageIf you're a Type A night owl, you better change your habits if you want to live longer. A new study from the United Kingdom suggests that Type A people are at an increased risk of early death. So how do I fix this? One may ask. The best way to do it is don't procrastinate and start your work early. If you're used to going bed late, change your habit by simply start going to bed early and set an alarm to wake up early next morning.

Type B night owls are worse than Type A night owls. Type A's get enough sleep, but Type B's don't; causing them to have many problems with their body. So, what kind of problems are there if you don't get enough sleep? Everyone likes to feel alert at school or work; no one likes to feel sleepy. Research shows that even missing as little as 1.5 hours can have an impact on your level of alertness during the day. The lack of sleep can also affect your ability to think and to remember and process information. If you only get 4-5 hours each night, your alertness and ability to think would be awful; causing you to perform poorly at school or work. Did you know that getting enough sleep is also safer for others? The reason is that you are less drowsy when you drive. "Drowsy driving accounts for thousands of crashes, injuries and fatalities each year," according to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. Do you also want to have less conflict with the people around you? Another issue that the lack of sleep can cause is making you feel moody and angry all the time; increasing the chances of having an argument with others.

If you want to avoid the things that I mentioned, I suggest you start acting. Lower the amount of time that you watch TV or play video games for or put it after you finish your work. Start your work early so you can go to bed early. It may be difficult at first, but it will be worth it at the end.
